MotoGP08 for the PS2 - anyone own it?

Got this as a Christmas present, but just getting to give it a go. What I'm confused with is: In Career mode (may be other modes as well), how do you switch from Free Practice to Qualifying to Race? I managed to do it in the first round, but now I seem to be stuck on free practice in round 2.

Do you have to complete a set number of laps? Or is there a button you can press?

    All words of wisdom appreciated!

HA! 16yo are of use on this site,

For Free Practice just quit. You dont need to do it. It just allows you to get your lines right. Qualifying is one lap then it finishes.

Its a pretty good game actually. Most fun pulling wheelies into walls and falling off haha
Four wheels move the body. Two wheels move the soul. One wheel moves the filth

Relax Officer Pig, It was just a wheelie

Thanks for that - so at the menu stage, where is has "Free Practice", guessing you just scroll down to there and there will be an option to change it to "Qualifying"?

Is it much better then the older ones? I can only remember playing motogp 2003 (think it must have been because Dijairo Kato was still a rider) and it had a few annoying features like not being able to change fuel consumption for time trial which cut's like seconds off lap times at japan

    That's pretty much it.

Just go down and select where it says qualifying and you will be presented with another screen to choose free practice, qualifying or race. Pick which ever you want and then you're away.

Its alot better than any of the other motogp titles. Not so arcade but not way too sim either. The physics are great and its cool to fang on the 125s and 250s!

Bob, it should be easy to just scroll down to "start race" and skip the practice etc?
