On the way to whitianga I low side in a 25km/h corner DOH. Broken gear lever, scratched fairing, broken clutch lever and I think the engine cover is leaking oil. At least I am alright and the leather did there job

What was the cause, New tyres, cold tyres, gravel, oil or did you grab a handful of brake during the corner?

Just wondering what when wrong, obviously something did.
I'm no stranger to low speed lowsides but if I can figure out what went wrong I can hopefully learn from it and try to avoid it next time.

Gutted on the bin thou man, at least you did yaself no damage and low speed (not always) results in less damage. It'll be back to mint in no time. If ya need a hand at all, give me a shout.

What happend ???? not sure just lost the front might be a bit wet tar or diesel or just being stupid not completely sure. All I can say is NEVER ride without full gear even at low speed you can get seriously damaged judging by the marks on the boots leathers and gloves

Just a thought man, sometimes low speed crashes aren't all that expensive to fix yourself, sure insurance is good but you lose your no claims bonus and it does make it harder and more expensive to get insurance at a later date as you've already claimed, they see you as a higher risk :spudwhat: plus the time it takes for some insurance firms to sort shit out can have you off a bike for a while.

Your damage doesn't sound too severe, it all depends on weather you want you bike to look mint/like new again or if you just want it rideable again.

Like i said just a thought, damage could be worse than what i think.

from the few hours of riding we did after I fear it is only his ego that has suffered in the off.

Low speed was due to tight road, hill heading east out of coromandel, and maybe some wet tar but prob just the suzuki falling apart round him!

Haha yeah one hand is good to go, the other is too, just waiting to get the cast off, cant grip a handlebar very well with it on, yeah my pushbike been getting some work as i figured if i caught driving with a cast on i could get into a bit of trouble only to get pulled up yesterday afternoon for riding along on the back wheelie one handed with my other hand in cast resting on my lap, kinda wasn't wearing a helmet either, although the officer was impressed with my skill the laws the law and he flicked me a $55er for not wearing a lid, my bad.

One more week or so and i'll be back on the motorbike, only it's running on one now :spudwhat: Death what you been upto

It all depends on how much the engine cover and gear lever is going to be. But if its to expensive I will leave the insurance and just get it on the road

Fair enough, i can tell you a rear brake lever for my TL cost $170 (crikey), gear shift much the same, only the pedal had snaped off so i drilled a hole with a 6mm bolt as the lever with 2 10mm nyloc nuts either side, does the trick (for free and 3 minutes labour) the engine cover not sure, price up a/m ones like NRG (?) who make tougher race covers which are most of the time cheaper than OE parts and better! Clutch levers are cheap as chips, you should be able to pick one up from a wreckers, could be wrong but most clutch levers are interchangable between Zooki models! If ya fairing is cracked see Kerry at Motohaus and he can plastic weld it up in no time for ya.
