Interesting place to mount a number plate

Doubt very much that it's legal, as it is difficult to see on most angles.
That and the fact that most interesting things are illegal .

well IMHO it just doesnt look quite right where it is postitioned...

Shit if it got loose it could then rub against the tyre and wheel..
and if it lost a nut holding it on while riding it could fall over into the wheel and cause a nasty accident...

Nup put it back up where its supposed to go.. IMHO.

Heaps of choppers run their plates like that - makes for a cleaner looking rear fender area IMHO.

And where does everyone mounted your rego sticker? Apparently under the seat can cope you a $200 fine.
I want to try and tidy up the rear end a bit.

Just stick on the back of the plate like normal!!

On another note does anybody know how I could mount a US plate on the sissy bar of a Virago? Don't want to just toss out my Texas plate when i get the bike regoed and thought it would be cool to have it up on the back side of the sissy bar.Might Put the new plate there aswell. Already talked to the guys at the testing centre and they said it's legal so all I have to do is figure it out. Might just drill a few holes and bolt in on but don't know how stable that would be. Might give welding it a try but don't want to screw up the chrome. Any ideas would be helpfull. Ill try to get some pictures of the sissy bar and my plate latter today.

Agreed. Definitely a fugly there. Lets face it a Rego Plate ruins the arse end of a bike.
Somewhat like having a supermodel in Gstring and putting boxers on her. "Where did that beautiful arse end go????"

The only risk you have is if some pedantic law enforcer remembers "displayed other than authorised plate"

Having said that I have a Texas truck plate on my F100 (as well as the proper Kiwi plate) and have had no problems.

I have asked the guys at the testing centre and they said it would be sweet. Gonna ask the LTSA inspector when he comes out thursday aswell so heres hopin.

Yea I remember driving out to Cali while that was going on one year. Saw lots of cool cars and a few bikes out on the roads. Albaquerque is in New Mexico though not Texas. But anyway glad you had fun in Vegas
