mines due tomorrow... thank god for working 2 jobs! LOL.
billie, i think thats right... you have x amount of time to get WOF/rego, and write in to whoever issued the ticket and they will/should then cancel it.

the really happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery when on a detour.
no...you can get a ticket for not displaying a current registration from a parking warden too. thats also a 200 fine.
The grace for a warrant is if you have faileda previous warrant, where you can theoretically drive/ride for the purpose of getting a warrant.
That s my understanding ,based on fact.I got a ticket for no registration,i immediately bought my registration, which included the period that i had been unregistered, and i went to court to argue that fact...i still got the ticket.
I did this early in the new year. "That's funny," I thought, "my sticker says 2008 but I could swear I renewed the WOF in August." It turns out I had never got around to putting the new sticker on the bike and had lost it in the meantime. The good news is it's easy to get a new sticker; the (not very) bad news is they cost $7.50. Better than $200, though.
Think of it as a tax on stupidity.
No, not correct. If you are ticketed by a cop, they can choose to give you a grace period (depends how much you flash them) of 14 or 28 days.
My understanding is that wardens CAN give you a warning (looks like a normal ticket, but nothing payable) if they choose. I suspect they probably don't choose too often though, or their bosses wont be happy.
With WOFs, if you fail, you have 28 days to get it to pass (without paying another fee). The wording is that you may not drive on the road during that time, except for the express purpose of getting your vehicle repaired or to do the re-test. I guess if you got a ticket from a warden for no WOF, it's pretty hard to justify why your vehicle is parked up when you should be taking it to get fixed.
Oh sh*t you mean not having a WoF gets you ticketed? Who'da thunk!
i think its too late once they give you a ticket - but if they pull you over and you say your going for a warrant soon then they sometimes let ya off.. (suppose it depends on their quote and whether your name is jim or jane?? :-)
The thing is you have plenty of time before the wof runs out to get a new one and they'll date it from the expiry of your existing warrant. No excuse really.
i personally think its bullshit that parking wardens can give you any sort of ticket outside a parking infringement, they are just council workers,
police should be the only ones allowed..... but then the council would have to find yet another way of screwing you out of cash,
