    Ridiculously cheap insurance

I just went into ASB and decided to ask about insurance (just out of interest). I've ben with KiwiBike for a few years now and they've been awesome. Anyway I got quoted from ASB $100 pa for a $11000 sports bike. Surely this cant be right? Anyone else insured through a bank and is it really this cheap? They must of forgotten a zero? I'm going in on Tuesday again to get a proper quote with excess and everything else.

watching this one with interest.........make sure you let us know how it goes!
Cats land on their feet. Toast lands jamside down.
A cat glued to some jam toast will hover in quantum indecision

Curiosity was framed; ignorance killed the cat

Fix a computer and it'll break tomorrow.
Teach its owner to fix it and it'll break in some way you've never seen before.

I started laughing at her when she told me, I even said you cant be serious and she was like...."that's what it says on here". Obviously it wont cover track, which really sucks. But with the money I'll be saving I could drop my bike and afford to fix it anyway

I got a policy written up of $60 for a 7K bike from AMI (3rd party + F&F)... Turns out the lady had no idea what she was doing. I read the policy carefully once it was posted to me, and promptly got my $60 refunded (which covered me for absolutely nothing).

Possibly a balls up mate, check it out careful like and double check.

Insurance can be as cheap as you like but the real value is when you have to call it in.

Insurance was $62.50/year on my RG150 for 3rd Party cover only (Through BNZ)

But first party w/ fire and theft was $260.

They must have thought it was some kind of pussy scooter.

Yeah, doesn't sound right. Even my daughter's $900 P.O.S. car with just 3rd party costs more than $100 pa.

hope it is right. I'm paying way too much at the moment. Last time I called Donna at Kiwibike even she was surprised how much I'm paying. It pays not to have run ins with the red and blues when you're under 25.

Sounds like 3rd party, fire & theft, not comprehensive.
If it wasn't for a concise set of rules, we might have to resort to common sense!

Check up on that for sure, when searching for insurance for my car (yes its a car mind you) was only looking at insuring it for 3k full cover. My bank quoted me $2,500.00 per year.
