    Wink V Strom Rideouts

Hey Ya all. bout time I posted something here.Been stealthly lookin for a couple a years now.Lookin for places and people to go with for rides at random times. I do shift work ya see. Lookin for places suitable for the strom, which hopefully I have managed to attach a pickture of.I have cut it down and modified it a bit, but it's still a heavy beast off road, so I generally stick to dry stuff.Have explored various back roads in the Wairarapa up as far as Akito and Pongaroa.Been up the Mangahoa behind Shannon. But HAPPY to go there again. Cool.Done Turakina and Whangaehu Valleys.Explored watershed Rd. Napier/Taihape Rd.I see there are a few places up behind Otaki, Ohau, but they don't look suitable for a heavy beast like mine.Am in my seventh year with the Strom so far. Can't fault it for the sort of riding I do and the good all round flexibility of it.So any suggestions of new turf and random ride partners. Look forward to meeting some of you somewhere, sometime. Cheers

Give us a yell if you ever come up the Manawatu as I have a V Strom as well and do shift work.

I've been up to the Mangahao dams behind Shannon as well, once, broke my foot peg off and never went back.

    Hi Junkmanjoe
Cheers Mate. Might have done the Homewood but was awhile ago, so time to do it again I reckon. Had a look on the map and the pack spur rd in the tinui valley looks appealing. Happy to head off with you over there. My days off vary but as on previous reply, I off next Tue,Wed and Thurs.Hows that work for you?

I was up the Mangahoao Dams during the weekend, and they have a sign up that the road is closed (7.30 to 5.00 weekdays), from about 5.5km in, This is due to logging being under action in there. Some of it is right beside the road.

Yep well spotted, only the first 2 were up mangahao, Takapari Rd is well worth going up, it is a bit rough in a couple pf places going along the ridge, but the large BMW'S seem to make it with few problems.
