    KX80 rings. How often?

Just bought a 2000 KX80 and wondering how often I should change the piston/ring? And also what mixture I should run?

Hmmm, while we're on the subject. How often should an RM100 rings etc be done?

Thanks mate. As I don't know the history of it now, will a compression test help determine how far gone it is, or do I need to pull it to bits to do that? I heard it gets expensive if the bore gets damaged?

the book will tell you every 10 hours or so, depends how hard the bike is being ridden, but on an 80 id be doing both piston and rings at least every 35 hours, same goes for a 100

    Most KX's wether 80 or 85cc run at 32:1.

Rings changes are dependant on the rider and the type of riding to a certain degree.

I used to do them every 50hrs, but now the little bugger is on the pipe it seems like every couple of months.

I'd do it right away so you know the history of it from when you bought it
