But the novelty didn't last that long, was soon over making videos and was just keen on riding.

Similar problem occurs with GPS units on adventure rides and (IIRC) solutions included making sure all the contacts had a good coating of dielectric grease and setting the batteries in a bed of silicone. That seemed to fix both the coming lose and poor contact problems.

those are the GoPro cameras that have already been mentioned, I use one and its really good, just have to get the mounting spot on straight or it looks like you right with your head to one side, I think its good because its so small, runs off aaa batteries and has a removeable 2gb sd card, so you can ride for as long as the batteries and card lasts, in saying that Iv never run out of either
It has lots of functions, like you can tell it to record unpsidedown if you mount it undersomething, hi-lo quality sound, etc you can change all these on the camera
Also comes with quite a few mounts, a curved one, a flat one, a strap that goes around your head for push bike helmets
Ours cost about $350 with the better mounting base and some rechargeable aaa batteries, got it from the racetech display at the speedshow
I will use it to record my second lap of the MR cycles ride on sunday
we may just go where no ones been
