terry shepard tuning is quite the talented tune shop!! they do much more than what they state...I found a dyno of a 98 tl1000s on the net a far while ago when I was still a TL nutter...it had a terry shepard built engine producing 188 hp...and was compared to a stock 2001 GSXR1000 producing 141hp...them are some telling numbers!!

As long as they have steering dampeners, remember the recall?

The first batch that arrived had no dampener. I was invited to test ride one from Welly Motorcycles. I took it up Mt Vic with a near empty fuel tank. I pulled out to pass a bus load off tourists and all hell broke loose! The bike did a lock to lock tank slap the length of the bus and then some!!! Thank God I was in second and was able to wheelie out of it...gave the tourists a good free show though

I rode without the dampener when I had my suspension setup properly.

My tendancy to put down wheelies a bit crossed up after shifting to 2nd gear made me put it back on...

I found my 600RR to be far worse without a dampener.

Is there a GPR Stabilizer available for the TL? I rate it more than any conventional unit, Im loving mine.

take the steering damper of any new bike and it will no doubt do the same...

Interesting though...took the steering damper off mine to replace it with a ohlins...and I rode it around for a few weeks with none...went mint!! and I don't ride like a girl really!! it did have the rear ohlins in it and the front was revalved with traxxion pistons.

Sounds like something that used to happen in England on a TL when they first arrived, strangely most of the rest of the world didnt have a clue what they were on about.

Yep, was a hum dinger, and easily the nastiest unprovoked tank slapper I ever had in 26 years of erm...brisk riding on crap roads And that includes my fat 16 inch tyred sports bikes of the eighties!

I did ride one with a dampener, and it has impeccable manners, loved it's character, so much more entertaining than the bland vanilla SV1000
