I would consider looking for a GT. Just recently I rode the ST at Motorad

Was a nice bike to ride, but high Kms for the price. Theres is a GT in Ak that was really good

Went and had a look. Nice bike rides well, lower Kms and better money than the ST. There are a few good GT's out there now. They are slight bigger than a ST but you dont really notice it.
thank you, but that is WAY outside my budget but ya I would love to have one lol
this is what I am looking at

Very nice, this bike to have a Scorpion exhaust, I am an older guy, I want something I can sit on and tour and commute to welly and home.
then take for some weekend rides and give it hell on occasion
Looks good mate.
I owned an 02' Sprint, absolutely loved the bike while I had it. You wont be disappointed if you end up with it in your garage.
The sound of the triple is unique, which is one of the reason that I bought it. I test rode two other bikes on the day and when I got on the Sprint, the other two seemed to be....just other bikes to be honest.
Having panniers is an added bonus. Great tourer.
The one I owned had about 1/2 the K's than the one you're looking at, during 07' I spent some money on it.
Jan 07....New Brakes.....$340.55 (must have been a warrant thing)
Apr 07.... Ohlins fitted front and rear....$2797.02 (owners choice at the time)
June 07....Stepper Motor and Housing....$520.99 (may/may not become an issue)
Nov 07....New Chain and Sprockets....$346 (chain needed replacing so sprockets got done at the same time)
Cut my teeth on a 2002 model. I was sold the moment i hopped on to it.
Great machines and the later ones are even better.
Trumpydom!
I had a 2000 G1 model...quite "agricultural" is how these are described - engine sound-wise. I loved it. Traded up to Sprint GT.. and now a Tiger Explorer. Love the triple sound.
I learnt to do all servicing - but otherwise - make sure IACV hoses have been replaced (they perish and cause general shit behaviour at low speed and idle) and check that valve shims have been done at that miles....
Apart from my Sprint RS being a stop sign magnet for car drivers on cellphones (long story), the biggest hassle I had with mine was the parts are a bit tricky to get hold of unless you want to pay big $$$ from the dealers.
In the brief time (5 months) I owned my 2004 Sprint, it broke a footpeg (no idea why), and I had an issue with the fuel tank. They have quick release plugs on the fuel hoses, like many bikes do nowadays.
Big problem is that these nylon quick releases tend to go brittle after a while, and my one snapped off at the tank. Which shouldn't have been too much of a hassle, except the idiots at Triumph had loctited it in, so I had to dremel out all the nylon, then recut the thread, before replacing the quick release with a metal one.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Is 78000 kms too much for a 05 ST 1050 ?
Bike looks immaculate, and comes with hard luggage, just that the miles are up there. It is through the dealer so no previous service history other then what service the dealer has done. He is asking reasonable money for the age and condition. And I am happy to pay that, just wandering if the milage is too high for this sort of bike.
I've spent my money on bikes, booze and babes. The rest I've wasted....
