Well done! Thanks for sharing.
I reckon adding some camera work to a ride makes for
an interesting journey.

Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
Right, I'm using the system as detailed at
http://www.helmetcamera.com/acart/ag...plete_Packages
Prior to buying their recording device I was using the helmet camera plugged into a JVC DV camera, and an external microphone.
Am I happy with it?
hmmmm, yes and no, If I was purchasing again I'd look at local cheaper options, there were a few in an older thread that looked worthy of further investigation.
Using the DV system it was an absolute mess of wires, plugs and bulk. Had a few issues with poor connections and whatnot, Though the quality was good.Still, I had to wear a damn backpack to carry it all.
So I bought their Xtreme Mini recording device, adaptor to replace all the cords with just a single cord, and the adaptor top run off a 9v battery.
Numerous problems, namely the adaptor and the camera both have female connections, so I had to cut them off and solder on two new ones, resulting in an audible hum (you can hear it on that video, sounds like tire scrubbing) On that video I had moved teh camera into my top pocket and the battery pack was hanging down my shirt as I had hoped to isolate them from each other.
Anyway, The next trick is to remove the plugs and hard-wire the two items, I'm hoping that fixes the issue. Otherwise I'm shopping for anew one.
Secondly, Their "Xtreme mini recording device is a piece of crap, takes rubbish video in its own right, horrible audio, though it works all right with the helmet camera attached. The recorded video is in a propriety MS format that's almost impossible to work with and suffers massive quality loss with one wrong move. And half the time it produces a broken video file that takes a crap load of time to recover.
Converting to MPEG (the format used for DVD) creates a checker board of colours.
Plus, their 9v option ran the system for less then 4 minutes, WTF is that about?
Short version, I wouldn't recommend it.
Not looking for a bitchfight, and I know what you were doing was not a safety issue (I could have quite safely passed a car or two in there since the yellows went down, but you didn't hear/see it here), but my comments are the best part of serious.
Surely the point of riding is to do the bendy bits, not get rid of them?

I took the corners as I did for maximum enjoyment, works for me, and..well, it was all about my enjoyment.
Now, I'm not about to tell you what my speedo was reading, But I would guess I would have had to slow in a couple of spots if I were seeking to hold a tighter line.
My ride that night consisted of the back roads through Marton,Fielding, Ashurst, over the Saddle road, through the Gorge and back to Wanganui, There was no shortage of corners....
Please help keep me in leather and on tarmac - it's good for my ego

On ya HB looks a great ride for sure, wouldnt mind getting some sort of video set-up myself.
Be the person your dog thinks you are...
Just watched the video again, with an eye on the sections I straightened, Quite interesting in that I wasn't pushing the bike at all, and appear to be ignoring the corner for no other reason then laziness. Certainly could have stayed in my lane and taken a much closer line at that speed and if desired quite a fair whack faster.
Well, Its interesting to me anyway, Not often I examine my own riding.
