Where can I get a Jet style helmet?

Yeah, yeah, I know, the curse of ATTGAT will descend upon me.

None the less, I need a Jet type helmet.

If you don't know what a jet style is (and you won't if you're not old enough to remember when wearing one was almost certain to get a you ticket from your friendly local snake - law abiding motorcyclists didn't wear crash helmets), don't bother

I want a jet helmet. With the goggle retaining clip at the back (I have experience of trying to grab goggles that decided to fly off at around the ton. ). And double D fastenings.

And either no visor , or one that can easily and practically be removed. Cos otherwise the aforesaid MK VIIIs won't fit (those that dont know what a jet style is won't know what Mk VIIIs are either) .

Yes. I know about Davida. I haven't got a Davida budget. I'll rephrase . I want a jet helmet at a sane price. With goggle retainer. And double Ds.

I donb't want one of those silly crusier dome things. And I already have several full face helmets so don't bother trying to convert me.

Just tell me where I can get one. Preferably in red or silver.

(Oh, I've tried Cycletreads and Motomail, and several local bike shops. None of the staff even knew what I was talking about. Youff is wasteed on the young)

Thank you. But that model does not have the requisite google strap (I suppose something could be done with glue, or velcro, or a four inch nail) .

Why on EARTH would any manufacturer be fool enough to put out a jet helemt with provision for googles.

Thank you. But it has a visor. Visors are not cool.

Did anyone ever stand at Creg-ny-baa and watch Hailwood or Dunlop come belting down the mountain peering ahead through his visor? I think not.

I picked up my Davida from tardme (with the goggles) for three hundy. NIB it was (not Nativity in Black, the well known Black Sabbath song, famous for its extraordinary Geezer Butler bass riff, New In Box ) It took some doing (saved search on Davida for about 8 months.)

I did see a bloody cool white Bell the other day that had the three dome visor thing. All it needes was a bubble visor faceshield for maximum cool points. Cant find it for sale anywhere though

When my old Nolan N70 finally died a couple of weeks ago (bought 2nd hand in 2001 for $75) I nearly said ''What's your head worth?!!!'' and wanted to just get a Davida.Ended up with a KBC,made in China with twirly whirly things all over it.

Never noticed they dropped the goggle strap off the Jet - and they are important. My wife lost her MkVIII's somewhere down Naki way because her Bell didn't have a strap.I reckon she was just pushing the Trident a bit hard.

Well have you had a look at the davida range of helmets, they have a jet style classic unfortunately it is not road legal in nz *dunno why*, it i s legal in the uk and a more modern jet *which I wear* witha thicker leather liner. They are both fantastic, in fact i rank my davida as the best helmet I have worn and own. If you want to check it out go into motomail *i know you've already come in* and look through the davida catalogues or come see me and Ill see what I can do les.

    Regards

I wore my open face Oxford (with peak sorry) on the Dusty Butt and the only thing that would have made it better is a pair of MKVIII's.

I do have a pair of Emgo MKVIII's but the helmet has no clip on the back...

Actually, thinking about it now, a bit of black duct tape would do the trick...

Duct tape won't cut it at speed. If they flick off the back of the helmet the wind catches them with a right force.
