First overnight trip - What should I take?

I am planning my first overnight trip with my bike and pillion in a couple of weeks and am looking for advice on what I should take.

I have a weeks leave and my lady and I have planned a trip around the North Island with the idea of camping and staying with friends. So my question is what should I be taking in way of clothing and all that kinda stuff.

    Cheers

And any recommendations on campsites etc

top10.co.nz do great campsites - all very reasonable. If you stay in their cabins it saves you taking all the associated crap. Also for another $5-6 you can hire linen, saving you taking much on the back of the bike.

The price difference is very little over a powered tent site - and well worth the time it saves packing / unpacking.

Other than that - some security for the bike when parked overnight - I have a Xena lock with audible alarm.

Good luck and enjoy the trip.

Clothing...clean underwear, socks etc. An Icebreaker top in case you get a cold day and wets for the rainy ones!
Diarrhoea is hereditary - it runs in your jeans

If my nose was running money, I'd blow it all on you...

If you're camping, the basics like a tent, bedding and what not is obviously neccesary. However, with a pillion on the back your space is cut down considerably. So as before, consider renting a cabin or staying at a backpackers.

Otherwise, i'd recommend lots of spare pairs of socks, and a spare pair of riding gloves for each person. If either of those 2 get soaked through on the ride, you're gonna have many painful days ahead of you until you get them dried. Take it from someone who got mild frost bite on one of their fingers because of this..

Otherwise, spare pairs of clothes always come in handy. Wrapped in a preferbly water tight, if not as best as possible, plastic bag.

A torch and basic tool kit for roadside repairs. Day or night.

A clear visor, if you can't carry it, don't wear a tinted visor and just wear sunnies underneath instead.

Really, just commonsense stuff.. wet weather's the killer. Drink lots of water and eat lots of energy food, you get tired surprisingly easily.

And other than all that, have fun.

Good idea to put ur clothes in plastic bags so if it rains it stays somewhat dry.
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot
