The Saddle - A voyage of discovery.

This is the second and last instalment of the most recent filming I have done, This is going up and over the Saddle road, an awesome piece of tarmac, and one I have long neglected, This trip is only the second time I can recall ever travelling on this road.

I (re)discovered how damned dangerous it can be to be thinking about the camera rather then my riding, Lost my mojo two or three times while trying to get good shots, Most of the time that required not looking at the road....It happens right at the start after crossing the bridge and trying to get a shot of the river.

I also discovered someone (my oldest boy no doubt) had been playing with my headlight, and rather then pointing ahead it shone up into the sky, I discovered this when it was dark and I was passing a line of traffic, It was quite exciting passing traffic, at high speed, in the dark, no headlight, one handed, other arm over the front of the bike trying to figure out if it was pointing down or up, Luckily I had my visor open and trillions of moths were commiting suicide on my face.all in all a great moment.

Anyway, enough dribble, here's the vid. Imo its a good one.

As usual you can get the better quality version by following the url and selcting high quality

    B+...
I think I detected a gear change...those things do have gears, right?

'tis indeed a lovely bit of road. Last time I rode it, there were fans of loose chip/gravel of 2 out of 3 corners. That is most upsetting.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Mountains of torque, Changing gear is purely optional.
