Evening all, after some small deliberation I have decided to join this happy throng on what looks to be an outstanding aventure. Have rung the fine lady at the campsite and she informs me that heaps of tent sites are avaliable but also that some of the cabins still have spare beds. If anyone has a spare bed and is willing to share could you drop me a line please ta ever so![]()

booked into a motel ... snoring and tents sounds like purgatory... still undecided on 42 ... see on the weather ... and grabbing a set of knobs is now $650 (i hope the cockies are enjoying the dollar!!! I'm NOT!!)
Are there any Auckland riders going to the King Country ADV ride want to meet and ride down together. I had planned to go early Saturday morning. What are your plans?

It's Crawford Road, just off Horotiu Rd.
As for the time, google maps says it will take me about 58mins to cover the 65km to Otorohanga, so I was planning to leave about 7:30am, but you are the local, what time do we need to leave to make it to Otorohanga by about 8:30am?
It sounds like there is some sort of bike rally on that weekend just out on Whangamomona

Something like this.
If you have a bit more time this route is much more fun and mostly gravel.
done it a few times and it takes 2 1/2 hours from port waikato at reasonable pace.
