    Bugger, that is a shame...

Had follow-up call with my doc today, after describing particular area of pain I was having AND finding out it was in an area NOT x-rayed last Thursday , he called me in asap. Apparently deep tissue damage, he highly recommends I take another 10 days rest at least and riding a bike for hours and particularly on gravel roads & tracks would be very unwise, let alone manhandling the bike in any awkward situations would probably result in more damage to ligaments, muscles etc.

So basically I am gonna take his advice and get healed up properly as those roads & tracks aren't going anywhere and I have a big goal of doing the South Island Invasion ride so don't wanna risk anything more serious happening at this stage.

Will miss not catching up with you guys and of course hope you all have a wicked weekend! Will look forward to the reports and pics and video(?)!!!

Sorry to not be coming but feel i need to follow docs advice especially as this is an ACC claim, so HTFU pills aren't gonna be any use!

If anyone still needs a cabin spot, get hold of Junkmanjoe as he will want to try fill my Fri & Sat nite spots! If he can't, no worries, I'll see him right cash wise of course!
wise though, wise....As you said this is ACC and we are all funding your recovery as are you of course...
I think I may have your bed and if so, many thanks, we will send loads of photos and I have said that I may even have some entertainment for the night...I have my portable DVD player and a few Dakar 2009 DVDs to browse....Bike porn and beers in the huts......
    Recover well!

It's a pretty big weekend ride, even if you are working at 100%.

Sorry to hear that Dave - that's a bitch

I like your priorities - there are some awesome tracks to ride at the top of the south.

    Front tyre

Got a question for the collective re my front tyre and the potential weather.

What would be better, a 90% worn TKC 80, or a 20% worn Vee Rubber VRM163, an 80/20 tyre.

Nice, I had better bring a bit more rum!!

I will not be doing any of the tracks on Sunday, I still have the standard rear tyre and know my limitations!
