    Re Leave Time From Wellywood

Hi Guys, for those planning to do the Matahiwi Track dont forget the the land owner has told KSLIDER that we have to be there ( Parapara side ) by 11.00 at the latest so you may want to rethink you leave times re this.
Here for a good time, not necessarily a long time

Mark - I agree entirely - IMO leaving Paramata (Shell Mana) no later than 8am is a must - cheers S

Great news, a sunny weekend will be the icing on the cake.

MXNUT, how much of that route you suggested gmaps is gravel?
Just wondering how much time I need on friday to get down to Crawford road.
This is my good weather route, will probably do this one if the weather is not so great.

Hey Chris it is about 75-80 % gravel and will take 2.5 hours from Port Waikato to Crawford Rd.

Well that was an awesome ride, filled up with 98 octane at Gull Wanganui and headed up the river Rd, no cars just me and the Rd.Found the Matahiwi track and went and had a look, gate was closed so turned around.Track is very very dry they have had no rain up there for a long time.Carried on up the river to pipiriki, they are tarsealing the hill out of here towards Ratehi and have done quite a few km so far, the rest of the gravel Rd had just been graded, ie he was 10min in front of me, that was alot of fun trying to stay upright let the front down a little made it more managable.
Up thru the parapara's there is lots of roadworks had to wait 30min at one lot as women driver decided to cross over and pass grader = all 4 wheels off ground blocking road!!! Top of parapara's is being done to not many corners left.Stuck some more 98 in and roared home with a tail wind. Butt is abit sore tho

She was dry as buggery but from what I could see not much dust behind me, it was some not to bad gravel on the river rd on the other side was a different story
