    home safely - thanks MotoXNut!

headed home leaving Taumarunui at 8am - first stop for the recommended coffee and breakfast at the 'Out of the Fog' cafe at Owhango - great place.

Then just pootled down the Para Paras in beautiful sunshine - took the turnoff as you come into Whanganui that takes you out through Fordell - my last gravel fix.

I really enjoyed the whole weekend - thanks to all for your company. Special thanks to Mark for organising the event & Pete B (aka K Slider) for the access to Matahiwi.

To all who helped me right the big 1150 in the Fisher's - thanks guys - that was satisfying to complete on the Bimmer.

Another highlight was Henry me allowing me to use his F800GS last evening - riding from Awakino to Taumarunui - noice - sorely tempted.

    Cheers all - Aslan

    Big ups to mark

Awesome weekend thanks Mark. Thanks to all those who assisted with uprighting BMW,s on the 42nd. I couldnt have done it without you and I mean that I really doooo Had an interesting ride home with Neil who also helped stand the big beasty up when the front washed out on the tarseal how you say in Engrish "bucker". I have for sale one slightly damaged Shoei helmet if any one needs one
Still managed to show enough skill to toss it on the same side so only one indicator damaged sorry Henry. See you all on the next one

Peter and I got back to Auckland around 6.45pm. Sorry hear about your off, Collin. Those roads were pretty shiny on the way home.

Mark did an excellent job herding us all through and sharing camera duty with Eddie. One or two performed for the camera. The 42nd is an awesome ride, with just enough of a challenge to keep you on your toes.

Collin and Haggis herded their big beasts through with hardly an incident but aced all the really tricky stuff. To make them feel better I decided to make them feel better by falling off on the last climb.

It was great to see all the faces behind the screen names, next time I'll try to match them all up.

I just remember Junkman Joe's grin pulling up behind me on Eddie's R100GS, I think he liked it.

    See you guys next time.

Hey - that's a nice DR Big you got there - great to meet you - cheers Stephen O
Did a u turn on the metal at the awakino pub on sat, didnt pay enough attention to the tiny slope down to the garden bar, locked and droped
bike landed on leg. bit gutted to miss the rest of the ride cause of a dumb little arse off but hopefully make up for it this coming summer.

great meeting you, your one off the true gentlemans of ADV

    Great Ride

Cheers Mark for organising the ride, it opened up alot of country I hadn't been thru before, thankyou very much.
Aslan, like Dino said it was great meeting you, you are a real gentleman and to handle that GS like that I have to give you a big thumbs up
All the guy's I rode with on Friday and Sunday(the muddy dirty stuff)awesome bunch of guy's
Had a little myself when Colin and I were heading home, another drain caught me out Joe and swallowed me up so now the other side of the tank looks well used, it matches the incident in 42nd Traverse (that was heaps of fun tho!!!).
I'm off to give her a wash and tend to her wounds

Thanks heaps all involved, had a great ride. And sorry for being so slow on that last leg.
Was great to put some faces to the names.

Plenty of adventures had along the way, shame I never got the chance to take many photos. But I did get a few on the way down.

Life shouldnt end at the grave well presented but rather, slide in sideways totally worn out yelling "shit that was a great ride!"

Top ride chaps. But next time I need less personal adventures - being flattened by a charging steer, one puncture and a berm busting somersault (thanks Nooles for purposely laying down your Big to avoid riding over me) Heres some pics.
