Ok good news on the key front, I didn't know this but after ringing a bike shop & emailing an out of town place I called a Locksmith in Petone (Armstrong, 802-2555) and they are able to cut me new keys & courier them to me cos I had memorised my serial numbers.

Betty is still wounded tho and that still has me f*cked off.

    Yay!

(Not 'yay' that Betty's wounded, 'yay' that you're going to be able to ride her again.. you know...)

So- writing down serial numbers: Good Idea.

The only reason I recalled them was b/c I had to look at them everyday to make sure I put the right one in the ignition.

Maybe this can be shot down/ has been suggested BUUUuuuuuT...Is it possible that your keys going missing had something to do with the bike being attacked? Not suggesting that you went out in your sleep and attacked it or anything, but were the bike lock keys and ignition keys on the same key ring? What I'm postulating is that someone found the keys in the bike, but then couldn't knick it because they didn't have the key for the bike lock. Slimbag then gets pissed off and kicks bike over. Just a thought.

    Great news about the keys!

Of course you know that this means you'll find your other ones now - always happens after going to the trouble and expense (especially the expense) of getting a replacement...
    Motorbike Camping for the win!
