Just done the first 127kms on my XT

around the manukau heads.... And I feel good. Ankle is a little sore but only when I walk not when I ride Bike feels good and is a blast on the twisty back roads. Makes riding near the limit (speed limit) fun.

Didn't see one other bike though..... But I was riding the goat tracks.

Good on yer Andy. As a former XT owner I appreciate your choice.
I've only been on that road in a rental or a van when servicing gear at the signal station - but it looks like it could be fun.
Experience......something you get just after you needed it

That rear brake hose looks pretty exposed, can you reroute it somewhere less vulnerable?

Well done mate, hope there are many more to come
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

do you get these in N.Z?

This is the Yamaha XT660X that replaced the old XT(TT still available while stocks last). This is the Supermoto version(Yam do 3 S/Ms in their european range),there`s also a trail version. They`re more road-oriented than the XT,but then Yam do a road kit for their enduro bikes here if you want something more focussed.Honda also have an S/M on the way based on the old SLR650 which I dont think you got.
