    Maungatapu

    Howdy

What condition is the Maungatapu like at the moment? I found a few threads on there but they were a couple of years old.

Ok for a couple of motards on road tyres?

2 friends of ours were hoping to pop through there in a week or so.

    Cheers

Should be fine, road tyres are ok when it is dry.
    Cheers,

Motard bike with road tyres should be fine up there, yeah, it's a bit lumpy in parts, but it's dry, no mud holes this time of the year, and all totally rideable. Watch out for a couple of BIG holes the 4WD boys have dug on the Nelson side of the hill, if you're not hooning you should see them easily enough.

Coming over from the Pelorus side the main holes are in the middle-right of the track so if you see one then the left is the safe option.
Except for the last one where the right is the safe side.

Hehe - they are going the other direction so I'll tell em to watch out for dem holes. They are mud runners anyways so no worries.
