    Mucking about in the Coromandel

Well last Saturday Bugjuice, me and his flash digital camera hooned it out to Whitianga, on the Coromandel. Perfect weather, similar bikes and abilities. Result was a brilliant day.

The brill day nearly turned to disaster when we were very nearly done by the plod for speeding along the straight towards Kopu. We were going ***kmh and a copper pulled a uhey right in front of us. lights flashing. Oh shiiiiiit, license, fine, confiscation, court etc....flashed through the mind. The cop kept going and pulled up a little hatchback that had been doing about 120, about 300 mtrs ahead of us. Phew!

Bugjuice took some photos of parts of the ride and I thought I'd post a few for your review.
Still can't get my knee down, admittedly the roundabout was too small and you got dizzy after about 2 revolutions.
    Wheelies are coming on nicely.
Next step knee down and then rolling stoppies. Anyone want to come out soon and practice the above and take some photos?

oi! you beat me to it..

Yeah, awesome blast, but all the twisties tightened up my back/shoulders/neck, so I was a little stiff the next day, but I'd do it all again right now if I could.
We both managed to set a nice pace for each other, which is always a bonus to a good ride, and the weather was real good, if not a little warm. Main concern was the hot tar on the corners. How much can you trust that stuff..?

Anyway, 'kin awesome ride, cheers swanny

my offerings.. the last one is all the bugjuice I managed to collect, but the pic doesn't show as much gruesome detail as real life!

Yeah be carefull in the coromandel...... Big tar issues! Apparently tar laid a few years ago was of a lower termperature grade than what was needed so turns to liquid on a hot day! Often there are water trucks driving f*&%n slowly round those bends spraying the road to cool it.

was there in the heat the other day and it wasn't too bad, but yeah 22 was a river of tar on one of our rides the other day. New ride plan will have to be early start, rest at beach/pub (not drinking) for the hotter hours of the day, and return in the evening!
