    Talking 1098S - touring

Right...I've finally got a week off and I'm sick of bastard bikers coming into work telling how great their day of riding has been so tomorrow afternoon I'm off on a fairly unplanned trip for 5-7 days on my Duc.
Yeah I know it's not the most ideal touring bike but Unit has got the ZX14 up north atm so a honky has to make do.
Got myself a small back pack full of the essentials and will have to simply buy clean clothes as I go (read...go to the Warehouse).
So if you see a lost looking dude on a bleck 1098S pootling along wave out and show me where the local pub is will ya!
Plan....leave Tauranga tomorrow and head south...Inter Island ferry on Monday afternoon...ride south...ferry next Thursday,maybe...Tauranga next Saturday...

No kidding! Going south island! Nice! Doing it on the Italian? I'll present you a walking stick when you complete the journey

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.

Me neither. Well, I've been there, but not ridden the track. Been watching videos of laps recently. Looks mint! Fast, wide and fun.

Hey Chris, if you need a place to stay in the far far south and to park the 1098 you're welcome to use the spare room and the garage (the 1098 goes in the spare room - you can sleep in the garage ) Just PM me.

Weather outlook is good for down here Mon-Tue-Wed so far.

Good luck with your choice of "touring bike" Chris. I did Tauranga Wanganui return this week on the RSV, im a bit out of practice with the distance stuff, but i was truly fucked by the time i got home.

Ha cool way of getting around Im planning on doing the same kinda thing on a daytona 675 for a few months. Was planning on just putting everything in a backpack but your idea of buying cheap clothes as you go is a top one.
    Good luck with the trip

Long trips on Ducatis can hurt a little, but then Ducati riders can handle it!!, if you need to be shown the way to pubs around Christchurch, just yell! I'd show you some just for a look at that gorgeous bike
    Travel safe..
