Instead of that, how about half a drum of engine oil? It'll need that just to get to Parnell.

EDIT: Anybody know about this tube business? Or would I be better off stuffing the 21" in there?

Not really helpful, however I can offer you to ride my blade as I am off tomorrow. Bit of a beast around town though...

Thanks for the offer -- have to say, the GN250 is more tempting though. Never liked Hondas all that much

Seriously though I already feel guilty enough borrowing people's bikes, let alone a befairinged thousand-cc shiny modern monster!

Well -- many thanks to Squiqqles and his shiny tyre levers -- tube patched, tyre refitted, seems to be holding air! We'll have to see over a couple of days though lol.

Getting the tyre to bead was the biggest hassle (no suprises there from getting Cycletreads and Co. to fit my tyres before). Must've inflated and deflated the thing at least a dozen times and no joy. So, deciding we needed more lube, we left the tyre in the shop of the petrol station and went the 2km home to pick up some dishwashing liquid (Wyndex seemingly not cutting the mustard). I realised halfway on the way back that the tyre was sitting there at about 90psi in the guys shop. When we got back and got the tyre back, we noticed that the tyre had magically beaded itself. Hope there wasn't a loud bang -- the attendant just silently glared at me

Cheers Squiggles! Time to get a spare tube and invest in some levers. Didn't turn out to be as difficult as I'd been lead to believe.

Well, it lasted two weeks -- tonight she's gorn orf. Oh well, tomorrow's not a public holiday!

Be interesting to see if it's the patch or a new puncture. Hope I haven't got problems with the spokes.
