Be worth a wander I reckon, we are heading down lunch time tomorrow, camping onsite, the Nield boys are fizzing about Merriman racing this weekend.

Damn that was a good ride, I'm possibly a little biased because it was my second ride as Intermediate & finished losing 3 minutes, I liked the course last year & it was better this year.

    A few thoughts,

    - Awesome to see Birchy helping out at the check after he had DNF'd, hope no major damage.
    - CR250F 2009 model, they suck to start hot, mate DNF'd because his would not go & saw an expert kicking forever in the extreme special test.
    - It was extreme for the experts, only 5 guys made time, the 16 minute expert loop was balls out & if you were good enough & did not have an off you made time.
    - Stefan Merriman can ride.
    - Rory Mead is on fire this year, Birchy looks to have a real fight on his hands.
    - The TE310 sounds a weapon down low, I thought it was a 450 as it went up the vertical creek exit in the extreme test.
    - If you ride hard into a vertical bank, you really want the front wheel to go up & not stay there & compress, it looked painful.
    - WR250F's can fly if required, though trees seem to stop them.
    - Having an expert extreme test after the intermediates have finished that everyone can go & watch & the experts can come back down & watch the rest of their mates, that was legend, leaving my camera @ home on the other hand that sucked.

Shit mate sounds like it would've been fun just to come and watch!

Good effort, thnks for the write up!
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

'Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out! Shouting, ' Holy sh!t... What a Ride!! '

It would have been a great one to watch actually, we did 4 times around the time trail by the pits ( once for a look, the other 3 timed ), along with a expert only ( or navigationally challenged intermediates like my riding partner ) section a km from the pits, which they rode 3 times.

The second to last stage was 42 minutes long & I'd taken 48 first time around, so was happy to make it in 45, meant no break for the last 45 minutes stage, thankfully it was more loose & came in 6 minutes early, all up 5 hours riding & around 115km, no major off's which was good.
