    Backfire?

    had trouble starting my bike yesyerday,heaps of compresion so hopefully not valves, but been mucking round this morning and it still wont start, dose like a backfire thing when kicking it over. any ideas?
    thinking maybe spark plug!!!

    throw it away and buy a 2-tanger. bbwwaaaaaap. otherwise yea check the plug, or give the carby a tap on the bowl.

    checked the hotstart and that seems fine, tried jumping it and with ckoke out it runs for abt 20 seconds then just dies, dosnt even idle,its not really a backfire when kicking it over but more a half splutter?

    Pull cam cover off and check top rocker bearing hasn't collapsed before you try starting again

    I'd be making a bee-line for the inlet valve clearances.

    blocked jet in the carb, my 450 did that in the first 10 hours, 1 grain of sand in the idle jet is all it takes.
