    Daytona 675, just got one.

    Whoohoo
I just bought myself a brand new 2008 model Daytona 675. There are still a couple lurking around dealerships and the dealers are obviously keen to move them on as almost all of them include $2700 - $2800 worth of carbon fibre goodies.
The best deal was offered by Pro Cycles in Napier, some of you may have seen the nice Neon Blue one on Trade Me. So I rang them today to say I wanted it, sent them a cheque and now it's waiting time for the bike to arrive on my doorstep, should be here by the weekend.
I absolutely love the blue colour which is no longer available on the 2009 models (only come in Black or Red). And after reading all the reviews, all the ravings of the guys on here about the Triumph Triples, listening to that glorious sound of that engine and the fact that I think they look dead sexy, I just had to have one. Especially as this deal was to good to pass up and the money was burning a hole in my pocket.
It will be quite a step up from my little Scorpio and the increase in performance is going to call for some respect from me if I still want to be here in a months time. Three times the engine size and nearly seven times the horsepower, in a bike which weighs only about 35kg more than the Scorpio, but that is what I want, something which is capable of scaring the living daylights out of me when giving it a little stick, for a while anyway. I'll have respect for the bike's capabilities and my own shortcomings and will ride it accordingly.
It'll be fun and nice to be able to cruise on the open road and keep up with all you boys and girls without having to wring the snot out of the bike to do 120km/hr.

nice... bet you'll enjoy that... going for my full in June and hopefully a dealer has a blue one still kicking about then. you are right, that blue is definetely sexier than the black and red.

I almost bought one, but then I rode the Honda and there was no going back. Enjoy the bike, did you test ride anything else? See you on the coast road then?

    Nice bike

Dare I recommend getting some framesliders "just in case"...?

Congratulations and welcome to the club. You will love the motor! and the rest of the stuff attached to the motor. There's an Owners website if you are interested: Triumph675.net

I see the 2009 model seems to be plastered on the cover of most magazines out this week. Nothing but praise for the 2009 changes too.

If you have any questions about owning a D675 you can drop me a pm.
