Righto people - I have my lovely, shiny, black SV650S, and it looks great... but... Suzuki have gone into overkill on the Warning stickers (5 of them) on the beast. So can anyone tell me what the best way is to remove the bloody things?

Um, hairdryer, fingernails, then meths on a rag for the goop left behind...
Seems to do the job.

I had that on my bike too. Everything you can think of from 'Don't put Diesel in here' to 'Wear your crash helmet' and every spec I'd ever need for 2 different tyres on the back.. Stupid.
I peeled them off with my nail, then use a small dab of nail poslish remover to get rid of any sticky left over, then a good wash in that area of soapy water, so that it removes all the nail polish remover. Alternatively, degreaser also works..
Just dab on tissue and wipe over..
Whatever you do, try it on the least conspicous sticker first. When I bought my bike, I said "Hey, you's fellas is gonna take these stickas off, aren'tcha?"
So, unfortunately I don't know what they used :spudwhat: I have a few ideas, but I won't say just yet, since they are just guesses, and I'm sure WT or others can help.
Just make sure you dont take the one off that says, "Not suitable for riding on public roads"![]()
Be careful with the nail polish remover if you use it, check in a hidden area to make sure it doesn't damage the paint/plastic. Maybe try kerosene first as it's supposed to be less harsh.
I do this for part of my job. Use a hairdrier to gently warm the sticker (or place bike in the sun for same effect). Use your nails/fingers to peel off sticker. Use Prepsol or similar on a bit of muslin (cheesecloth) to wet the glue residue and gently work at it until all traces are gone. Wash the area with warm, soapy water. Repolish.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
try alcohol, meths, or maybe a little kero and just keep rubbing them lightly with a rough rag until a corner lifts...
Don't use xylene cause that damages the paint and plastic![]()
hair dryer....
and then "prepsol"
$10 a litre at any car paint supply shop.... and it wont damage painted surfaces...
it's what every good paint shop would use...
The stickers are there for a reason and you most not under any circumstance remove these stickers or you shall be punished by a fate worse than death.... Look closely and you'll find the sticker that says this![]()
IMHO........... I'd leave em there, just ask manuboy what he had to do after trying to remove his from the SV...... repaint for one thing, even the black inside covers on the fairing still have marks on them.
Leave them there and this time next week you wont even notice them.
cheers DD

If you can get the main sticker part off, you should use DeSolve IT for the residue. Its designed for that, not too harsh but very effective and OH that citrus smell! YUM!
spray sticker with wd 40 then wait a few seconds ~ hairdryer it awhile then peel it off carefully ;D?
then wd40 again + softrag

I heard the stickers are under the clear coat... so at your own risk! :P
Oh and there are lots of good bike shops in Melb. .... and my god.... they acutally have a selection and give you service!
