Gut wrenching to read the stolen bike threads but at least this low-life can't do any harm while he's locked up. I'd probably be OK with applying a couple of hammer blows to his hands. Would likely never heal properly and he'd always remember why hands hurt every time he felt inclinded to grab stuff that doesn't belong to him.

Only real consolation is that decent people like you Barty5, have better lives than these parasites do.

Sorry for soap-boxing here, but I went to one of these 'victims meet the scumbag' conferences a few years ago. Turned out was quite a crime spree, series of robberies in the area for a couple of months. Sobering stuff hearing the effect the thieving had on so many other people. Many had moved after their home/lives had been violated (me included). One poor woman who lived alone was obviously very badly affected.

Overall though, meeting had lots of hand wringing and stuff-all else. Human nature being what it is (overly soft), most just soaked up the apologies and wanted to forgive. When my turn came I went over and got face to face and let the turd know what I thought of him. His tax-payer funded lawyer told me to 'back off' so I offered few suggestions for him as well. I felt crim should pay for my TV as he apparently didn't know where it had gotten to. To my surprise this was agreed, noted down, letter confirming etc. But no prizes for guessing what actually happened after that.

Footnote on absurdity: During this time I had my car broken into several times. Rang cops and asked them to send a car down the street every now and then. Computer says NO - resource issue. Evidently resources were available to have 6 cops with two cars, parked up the road stopping and checking WOF/Reg all day long and on a regular basis - while the robberies were going on. Hopefully some priorities will be altered with new Govt, intial signs seem encouraging.

When speed cameras were introduced in Aussie (nsw & vic), the clear-up rate on burglaries and assaults dropped by 60-80%. Is possibly why manning the cameras is now contracted out (plus the revenue raised means they can afford to pay a third-party).

My parents' were burgled several times. Only once did the cops do much, in fact there were about 4 carloads of them turn up, including one of plainclothes Ds. Apparently they were actually close to catching a serial offender and wanted fresh evidence to make the case stick.
    Cheers,
    Colin

We're reaping the bitter harvest of years of stupid social engineering that has seen this country go downhill for too long. Eg. Youngsters going off the rails and cops unable to stomp down hard on them.

I'm hugely in favour of some basic natural justice but you have to be bloody careful how you go about it. I eventually caught the prick who was breaking into my car but as he was off up the road by the time I caught him I could only be 90% sure it was him, being late at night. I'm no tough bugger but was amped up and ready to deliver some behavioural correction. Was a bit concerned that he obviously knowing where I lived - and where my car was parked though. I shook him around a bit and told him I'd break his fingers if I ever saw him near my car again. Thankfully no further probs with car after that.

My motard was stolen from my house on Sunday in broad daylight while i was out (only went out for 2 hours) it was chained (they bolt cut the chain) and steering locked (they broke the lock) and down a narrow path (between a wall and my van) but was visible from the street. I have no insurance and the cops don't give a shit so i'm working pretty hard on taking down number plates, getting addresses and checkin it out. If i find it i'm just gonna call the cops. But if i see it being ridden (not fukken likely) i'm gonna stomp the cunts head in. Any advice or info on general trends of theft would be handy 'cos even this type of info is hard to get from unhelpful, behind a desk type, cuntface cops. Your story about your neighbour crazycr250 was classic and so satisfying to hear, i hope i can get the same satisfaction soon. I think something similar may have happened to me but i think it's the painters working in the house next door.

yea fuckn cunts aye. you work hard to have nice things then some cock-face gets jelous and takes it. honestly the safest place for my bike to be is in my van (unless my van gets stolen, 'runs out to check') its just gettn bad. we need laws like texas were its legal to use deadly force to protect yours and your neighbours property.

i suppose customising your bike is a good way to get it not stolen - eg red tyres, odd colour plastics etc, even custom graphics

a registration system adopted by all organised venues could help too - eg: all bikes ridden at given venue must be registered with the database to a certain rider - including engine & frame numbers - would mean stolen bikes couldnt be ridden at any event or track.

would take a bit of pissing around by organisers but would be worth it

yeah that's a good idea and i think just word of mouth does a lot of that work. Ie. it's a pretty tight community and i don't think too many stolen bikes are bought by riders who are serious about riding and would go to these events, bike parks etc because if they did the bikes would likely be recognised by someone. The thought makes it even more frustrating for me but i don't think many theiving cunts think about it's value to the owner (or even it's value on the market) heeeaps of shit is stolen for a quick thrill and a cool fire to watch. And when they do sell the shit they sell it to mates for a tenth of it's value 'cos the buyer probably doesn't have any real use for it and will probably skid it round on their street or on some private paddock

    That sucks donkey dick Kezza.

You got a description of the bike? What colour was it? Was it stock?

    Where was it stolen from?

    I'll keep an eye out.

Edit: Sorry just saw your post in the motard section.

My bike was radically different to any other but it to was also pinched in the middle of the day.

That sucks Kezza...hope you get them. But, the chances are nought.

We get posters for stolen bikes posted all the time but they only have to take the graffics off and you'd never know it was the same bike.
Its not like there is a national data base for off road bikes.

It would be cool if there was. But then there would be a cost involved for the admin I suppose.
