plastic runs from $500-$1500 per piece (divide by 100 for Chinese parts) so with a bit o labour yours is a write-off
but wait, there's good news - take their cheque
then offer to buy the wreck for $500 (maybe they'll drag you up a bit on that) and fix it using all the earlier advice
oh and don't forget to say you want it still registered before agreeing the price
How's that ?
Just remember that at least you got off (er under) lightly from your incident!![]()
Glad to hear that all you have to do now is paw through the rigmarole of insurance claims, searching for an alternative ride if needs be and making the funny with the postings.
Do keep us updated with the situation ...
"I like to ride anyplace, anywhere, any time, any way!"![]()
Heh, cheers everyone (and fizbin, I'm aware of how your mind works- on pure filth).
I would buy it back and repair it myself but as the bike is my sole form of transport I can't afford to take that kind of time out
And j, you sadden me. A Scorpio? I'm not that kind of girl!
has developed a love of big fours. WTF!
If you want to ride it naked i can show you how to repair plastic fairings with fiberglass, but be waren it take forever and it quite dusty work,
can you cut and paste with paper and glue? Can you apply sandpaper?
Then you can fix the fairings, the only thing thats hard is the paint - but getting it preped for painting is pretty easy just takes a long time.
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot
And the forks can be reparied by wheel and frame in caimbridge - will cost less than $200.

ETA: to Renegademaster....
See above about needing something on the road fast!
I sent off all the paperwork today, am hoping they get in touch by the end of the week. Having to rely on lifts to work and back is driving me slightly special...

Yes plastic is like gold on a bike these days, LOL
My partner is a towey and ive seen less damage being written off so i'd go kiss ya bike goodbye and think about what ya gunna buy next
Do what vgcspares says. I did that with an old car many years ago after a thief tried to convert it. Still driveable (just needed new clutch).
