I am getting about 65 mpg commuting on the GS. Think I got over 70 mpg on a longer trip on my 97 GS.

This drops to about 62 mpg if I give the bike a bit of stick, but still damned cheap to run.

My NC30 can do about 250km on the open road but you could halve that just riding in built up areas.

    CBR250RR - 19-20km/l

Ex Racing RGV 250 1989 Pepsi Replica - about 10km/l - unbelievable for a tiny 250, but good fun a tiny bit more fun that the CBR so not worth the hassle expense

for what it's worth, I can't be arsed to work out the mpg, but I used to get 200km for 10 bucks. It had more to go, but I reset the trip then when it was near 200km, I stuck in $10.

Now the 636 does $15 for 200km.. Neither of them were empty, both bikes would/will do about 230km, but i don't like letting it run that low, just in case. I saw some poor dude on a Harley last night around 11.30pm with gas can in hand walking back to his bike.. d'oh..

Well, me f'rinstance, obviously I'm not (quite) scraping 5-cent coins together every time I fill the bike up so cost isn't a big deal, it's always gonna be cheaper than the car, isn't it, but since it has no reserve light and no gas gauge, I kind of like being able to just reset the trip meter every fill and know to within 10km or so when I need to fill up again. Beats fumbling for the reserve switch halfway up the harbour bridge with nowhere to pull over in heavy traffic.

On average I get about 15 km/l (42 mpg) with my RF900 and that too includes quite a bit of commuting.
