I've owned a Falco (did 24000k's in 14mths) & traded her for a 2000R (did 45000ks in 3yrs) & loved every single kilometre on them with no worries, a couple of mates love their Tuono's (03 Racing & an 06) I've done approximately 60,000k's (total, both combined) on my 2 Super Dukes & the wind blast is only an issue when you want to do well over the speed limit (closed Rd situation of course) for a prolonged period of over 15minutes

Yep. I agree with Dazza. The only bike I'd look at as an alternative would be the ThuperDuke. But I like to do a bit of touring and the Tuono has the edge in comfort and top end, and probably tank range (although mine seems to run out at 210km). Those Moto Morinis look pretty special though.
The little screen on the Tuono doesn't do a bad job.
Have fun trying a few bikes out.

Yeah, wind is not really an issue below 150ish. I have noticed my jacket collects a heap more bugs though.

Anything over 200 (on the track of course..) makes holding on a bit tricky.

Popped into TSS today, didn't have the Falco or Tuono. They did have the Mille which I tired but bugger that for a riding position!! would be an awesome track day / hill bike but otherwise not for me.
The guy there starting talking up the z750 as an option and rated it equal to the Tuono as far as handling goes. I only sat on it but it did feel nice. 10.5k isn't a bad price either.
Will try Scooterazzi at some stage.

I dont know of a Falco for sale in Wellington at the moment through any dealer. I do see KTL does have one in Auckland.
Im surprised there wasnt a Tuono there.
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.

He had 3 Tuonos last week, but he has them at insanely brilliant prices.

The dude talking up the Z750 is on crack. I had to spend $2.5k to make mine handle. If it's the newest model then it handles worse than the first model, by a fairly large margin. It feels like a wheelbarrow to ride in comparison.

It's nice to have you agree but I too like abit of touring on my Super Duke,8000k's (down Sth) over 2 trips in 07 on my 05, & 4500k's on my 07 last year. Now that I've got the big tank on the 07, 18.5 ltrs vs 05's 15ltrs (what were they thinking) & a gel seat (swapped over from my 05) I'm good for approximately 230-240k's in touring mode. Granted the Tuono has a better top end but only once you hit 170kph (once again in a controlled environment & we are touring right !). Agreed Moto Morini's look special & love the stonking engine but feels a soft option compared to the KTM. Go the Tuono as there are probably some good bikes out there to be had at good prices. Saying that, the Falco is an underated machine, just needs a decent rear shock for better tyre wear/life

Gen 1's are bloody great real world MC IMHO, much rather ride my mates 03 Racing (and it looks cool if your into carbon fibre bling, only thing that not CF is the gas tank) than my mates 06
