    Helmet padding issue?

I like my helmet, Shoei TXR.
Dont really want to replace it, but it feels looser now than days gone by.
It really wobbles and shakes at any kind of speed and blurs my vision bad.

I tried on another Shoei yesterday, same size M, went for a ride, took it up to speed, and it was good.

So it looks like my inner padding may have gone soft.

Is it possible to replace the inside, anyone done it, or know how, where to get the stuff?

If your liner can come out to be cleaned you should be able to replace it.
I replaced my new helmets padding (not the same helmet as yours) with my old padding as the new one was a little tight.
When it get loose I will put the new padding back in.
If you are behind meDont ask as I am lost too.

Know what you mean. My FFM flip-up is too loose now but I've only just realised this. Thought my eyesight had gotten even worse than it is.

So far I haven't adopted a permanent solution but think a balaclava will do the job, plus cut down on wind noise under the edges of the helmet.

Experimented with a thick scarf under the helmet and sure enough vision cleared and the helmet stayed in place when I turned my head to look behind. Nice and quiet too. Only thing is the scarf is a lovely powder blue and looks a bit naff.....

Yes you can buy shoei padding. Try your local shop.
Ride it until the wheels fall off...

Most helemts have a warning saying they are only good for "X" years from manufacture. I'm sure the figure in my recently purchased Shoei was only a couple of years. It is in all the info about helmet care and use, if I remember correctly.

Put the old lid on a shelf and admire it from there.

Hehe.. you should get your colours done... there may be a shade that suits you more.

Seriously, I have a nice loose helmet that I keep for winter use. Its perfect with a balaclava underneath, and helps stop that cold blast of icy air from going down yer neck.

    Grow some hair man !!!!
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !
