South-east coast Ngawi to White Rock + more. Sat 21/3/09

Hello Everybody.

day ride

ive been working on this section of land for a little while, and have finally got premission to pass over private maori land,,,

,,, working with land owner and D.O.C.

:

Ok heres the ride.

Start Featherston mobil, between 9-9:30am plz.
an early start will get you home at a decent hour.
will travel down pigeon bush, on to east west access rd, on to Kahutara rd, on to martinbrough rd, on to ngawi rd, travel round to light house,
from light house we travel up the coast towards white rock, to locked gate, where land owner will meet us and open the gate, from there travel white rock road, can either travel over summer hill or in to cafe at martinbrough for pit stop (plz chose your option.)
and then travel the masterton martinbrough rd to masterton.
In the afternoon.
i have a nice loop ride, with paper roads.
we travel up Rangitumau rd to Dorsets rd, on to northcroft rd, back to my house for cupper and fresh baking,

and chat.

there will be a small charge per bike for coast access.
this has been asked from land owner, for up keep of coast road.
$10 per bike, im asking for a maximum of 15 bike plz.

i have added a few pics
there will be some sand sections, and rocky sections as well.

bring your camera,
not many people are allowed through here any more.

there is a old road through the coast, 4x4 and a few cars have been through, so should be suitible for bigger bikes.

any questions plz ask

ride will only be cancelled if theres a hurricane coming.

yip I plan on being there - God willing - thanks for going to the trouble of organising this Joe - the photos suggest to me that larger whales like my GS will be a handful in that sand - I plan on fitting a new Mitas E07 to the rear of m DR during this coming week and using the DR for this ride (wimp that I am) - Balrog you up for this?

Well done Joe for organising this ride. However I will miss it as I will still be away on our East Cape holiday. Hope all goes well & the landowner allows a repeat ride.

we still need to meet each other, what better place than on a ride.
land owner was more worryed about us destorying his land.
so ive caped it at 15 bike, but i be happy with a little less.

Exactly right, would be a good opportunity indeed

. Regrettably I don't get to ride very often (commute doesn't count) I only do 4ks each of gravel a day, 10 figure-8 and one attempt to do a willy before work and not much more

... the odd weekend attach at Karapoti which is always nice, good value for money for me.
