    GO BIG OR GO HOME

Oh it has to be at Taupo, Puke is crap to watch and its restrictive with the track crossing etc.

For me mate I will be right behind it and happy to help even with a bit of coin and prizes dude, I will do everything I can do
i am also willing to help out......flag morning/ride afternoon or vice versa..

The angle of Frostys trackdays were really a great chance for KBers to get together and have some fun at the track. Hell I would never have imagined going on a track without those days.

Its a shame you have given up on the concept Frosty but I also understand why. It is a lot of work.

I'd like to comment here but before I do I want to say the hatchet is buried Frosty. You said your bit , I said mine., and it's over. For what its worth, from my side, lets say more was said than should have been and I am sorry for that.

Anyway, I think you've hit on a dammed good idea here. Open pit lane days for experts are one thing and if you can get the numbers it's bound to work.

But what about a track day format for intermediate and experts. 2 groups.

These are the points which come to mind :
    • Both these groups crave more track time - this will give it.
    • Often both these groups are over subscribed even on 4 group days
    • Mixing intermediates with experts and racers on an open pit lane may not be a good idea (for the intermediates anyway)
    • These "committed" track day riders may be willing to pay a bit more for more track time so the financial sums may add up to a profitable or break even day.
    • It's not about excluding beginners, it's more about accommodating the needs of more experienced riders.
    • There's room in the market for this even if its only 3 or 4 days per year.

For this format I think the flag marshalls are essential... but I don't know how much it costs. I think it could be made to work financially. Do the sums.

I'd be willing to do admin/website/booking work but I'd want to ride too.

Friday ? Shit, ok i'm on my way !!!

I'm keen ! Any format works for me ! But if as Mort has sugested ya do a two group thing, i attended a Motomart day at manfield which worked out to be 15 min on and 15 off which works ! Just enough time to come in tweek a few adjustments, skull some water and wipe off a bit of sweat, then back out there !
3RD of april would be an awsome date bwahahahaha, you would find me camped at the old pits all weekend !
Big ups to ya for getting back into it ! Far from enough track days in my book !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

Quazi Mate please read this bit --I me myself -ol frosty wants to actually be out there. That does not happen and in all concience CAN not happen if its a "propper" kb track day. I spend all day dealing with endless minor or major issues. I just don't have the energy

I wanna ramp it down to being a bunch of mates who know one another out for a ride. We all look out for one another.

Don;'t get me wrong once I feel comfortable that I can spend a bit of time focussing on it the KB trackdays will be back

Sorry mate I diddnt explain it ya I guess. 30 people sighn up. I will show exact costings for the event and split the costings 30 ways. so if it costs $6510 then everybody pays $217.
Keeps costs down to the bare minimum

    Great idea Frosty.

Rodders used to exactly the same thing at Taupo every few months and it worked mint. No marshals required if everyone knows what they're up to.

Interestingly, it's not often the fast or experianced guys crashing their brains out at a track day anyway.

Phooooaaaar You could start a circuit thing happening here ! With practise days and prize giving ! No wait we already have the nationals !!
But a circuit thing would be kinda cool with the same riders attending each time !!!

OK folks this is a GO.

For the serious track day junkees
    STRICTLY RESTRICTED TO 30 RIDERS.
To be honest if you have never done a track day this is NOT for you
Not being mean here but the structured days are a better bet for a novice.

That said if this takes off Im going to have a go at running a
Cherry popper track day for novices
Again restricted to 30 attendees but broken into 2 sessions
Same sorta format but Ill invite a couple of experienced guys/gals along to help run it and show lines n stuff.
It will be aimed at two groups of people 1) those nervous about getting in the way/being run over at a full on day
    2) those that are keen but feel intimidated by diving into a full on day

    This WILL involve rider training
