    Scratched visor

Carried mah beautiful Arai Viper hat to a job in my backpack last night.

As it turns out I didn't need it, but I transported it in the bag that comes with the hat and inside a nice lined backpack.

Somehow it's conspired to scratch the visor - suspect on one of the inside pocket zips.

'Barsteward' or words to that effect says I when unpacking.

It's a tinted pinlock and probably three figures.

'Polish!' - nah not the delightful Euro style porn actresses or the quality of my planning, the shizzle to make stuff shiny.

I hooked into the visor with Autosol and a cloth - was all I have in the shed. (If you have a son with a nice Subaru you understand why)

    Fixed it.

Has created a slightly lighter patch where the tint has abraded off the surface, but only minor, and the scratches that looked like....like the paint on a Porsche Cayenne that has been left in Munterama Mall all night, are all but gone.

    File that one away.

Whitening toothpaste does a good job on fine scratches.

This stuff works good on plastic too: http://www.properautocare.com/moseandgl.html

I had a similar issue and ended up using autosol because i couldn't find anything else suitable in the shed. That took all the scratches out and the Mothers product brought it back to as good as new.

You could always cheer yourself up by going for a ride with Vege on his new Ural sidecar outfit.

    Or not.

Autosol also make a plastic polish as well as the more common metal polish. The agents are Hobeca Trading in Mount Eden, they should be able to supply stockist information.

You could probably do with following up the Autosol with PlastX and then that with either Plexus or Pledge.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...
