With any luck Mrs Pwalo and myself should be in Melbourne next week for a well earned break.
Can any one recommend a few bike shops to have a look at whilst my better half goes shopping?

Can't remember the names but there's a few stealerships in a row along the Nepean Highway, towards Moorabbin. They don't look very big but.
Elizabeth Street in the city has a huge number fo bike and accessory and gear shops on it ... Grub and I went there a couple of years ago had a great time!!!
Remember when shopping to make sure that receipts have the amount of GST so you can claim back at the airport on the way home ...

Elizabeth Street. There's a section with bike shop after bike shop.
most of them owned by Peter Stevens.
if you can get there, Zagame is worth a visit too. (KTM, Ducati Vespa): there is often a Desmosedici there and A very special 749RS Evoluzione track bike.

If in Melbourne next week remember Phillip Island is not far away & first round of World Superbikes is on there next weekend. We camping at the track.
If you're not living on the edge you're not leaning over far enough
Thanks everyone. Elizabeth Street sounds good. Pity I've just bought a new helmet and jacket, but I'm sure there's always other bits to buy!
Unfortunately I only found out about the WSB round after I'd arranged leave etc.

You gotta spend $300 in the same shop for the items to count.

Don't know what bikes float your boat but if it's old Harleys then look at H-D Development. It's in the city centre but you'll need to find the address in the Yellow Pages or summut.
Also, the official H-D shop has a nice museum in it (owner's private collection of beautiful old Harleys dating back about 100 years. Across the road is a nice biker cafe with more old classics fixed to the walls.
If you're not into Harleys it was a waste of time you reading this... Ha ha. Have a nice trip.
Elizabeth street is where all the bike shops are for sure.
Went into the Suzuki dealership there in September 08 looking for some bling for the C50T. Unfortunately the sales assistant (Fair Dinkum Aussi Dumbass)hadn't heard of this model Suzuki so he said he couldn't help me...... even though there was three boulevards in the bloody front window.
The guy in the Yamaha shop was more knowledgable and helpfull
lol bike shops are the same everywhere.
The Harley guys were too much in love with themselves to even get off there arses to serve me... I walked in looked around for ten minutes and walked out without even saying a word to any of them.
Tell Mrs Pwalo the best shopping is in the DFO Malls theres three of them in Melbourne. The Big one will take you all day to look through.
Victoria Markets is also a good place for a bargin.
Arguing with an Engineer is like wrestling a pig in mud.
After a while you realise the pig is enjoying it.
Im there Wed to Sat, and the WSB are on???? shit I should stay for the weekend Im thinking !!
Ive run out of fucks to give
Elizabeth St is where all the action is. Though Melbourne is a big town, so biking things are generally more expensive there (don't go expecting bargains).
Ducati City is worth a look if you're into that sort of thing. Located 590 Elizabeth St.
There's a new and impressive HD/Triumph dealership at 111 A'Beckett St (just off Elizabeth St). Which is also worth a look if that's your thing.
The greatest pleasure of my recent life has been speed on the road. . . . I lose detail at even moderate speed but gain comprehension. . . . I could write for hours on the lustfulness of moving swiftly.
