Born 20 years to late,whilst i still maintain the best sounding bike ever was a bevel drive 900 SS this thing awakes my fading senses.

yamaha tdm 850 and the other trellis framed road version of the same motor use a offset crank

with the right pipes they sound almost like a v twin

To me anyway nowhere near as good as a 78 SS with Contis,actually to be honest my ole TL sounds sweeter.

Yep that will do nicely,makes the new ones sound like a Honda,funny that the new ones look like a Honda.

Worse still they have

the CHARACTER of a Honda

You're speaking to someone who has a big air-cooled pushrod v-twin.
I love the old-style feeling you get the Guzzi.

That new R-1 does sound awesome, but it'll never sound as good as a bevel Duke or a Guzzi with Termi's.

Each to their own, it'd be a boring world if we all liked the same machines.
