Correct me if I'm wrong there was a time when Indian and Harley were running head to head.

Don't know what gave Harley the edge other than either Indian or Harley won some contract during the second world war to supply the Army with motor cycles. Anyone got the guff on this??

Indian got the wartime contract, and to meet demand they stopped supplying their domestic network of dealers, Abandoned the resellers either closed up shop or switched over to Harley.
