I really enjoy giving small tokens of appreciation to businesses that go out of their way to be helpful (not just bike shops). A box of chocolates, some muffins for smoko, a dozen beer or a bunch of flowers. (Maybe not flowers for a bike shop - the mechanic might think you're trying to pick him up. )

Things like that don't need to cost much but always end up with good feelings all around. If you can drop them off personally you'll get to see the surprise and pleasure of the bike shop staff - always gives me warm fuzzy feelings.
