wish I entered the scamble now!
Ive just been out sweating blood amongst the pine logs and bogs of a logged out hillside. god Im unfit!
I was wringing with sweat after getting to the top of the ridge and then back down again. its amazing how just a wet 200mm branch in a muddy hillside will slow you up. I was stuck for waay too long. Ive just fitted tugger staps front and rear- what a difference they make! After that I went to an old gold processing facility with big concrete foundations to climb up and drop off.
Im happy with my bike now- new oil in the forks and Ive clicked all my clickers till they are just right for my lazy fat arse. Bike is working well for a $1200 trade me special! especialy the whacking big sumpguard I made from alloy in a scrap bin!
I aim to be the wrinklyest rider on the oldest/shittyest bike
Hope I dont get black flagged for being too slow!
Retired- just some guy with a few bikes......
"As for me, I am tormented with an everlasting itch for things remote. I love to sail forbidden seas, and land on barbarous coasts." ― Herman Melville
Went and helped with the track building yesterday, man it is going to be a cool event. It was wicked being in the middle of the city with diggers and bobcats cutting up logs etc.
Right in the middle of the track you can look down onto the trains in the Britomart station, classic!
I met Jesus who was brought out from Mexico by redbull to ride, real nice guy, got in and helped out.
To everyone sitting at home reading this, get up off the couch and come have a look on Sunday, you may not see this type of thing again in Auckland.
The wall of death High Middle or Low?
If i get to it![]()
I would say somewhere in the middle. It doesnt look as big and as hardcore as the ones at the Romainiacs. Its about a 45 degree angle ( they have a catch net if ya bike decides not to do it.) You should be ok. The other obstacles look awesome. The massive log bridge should provide some very good entertainment. cant wait.
