OMG I'm just catching up on this... it looks BRILLIANT!

I will definitely be there. Train you say? Catching the TRAIN?! Whatever happened to that wonderful form of transport called a motorbike?

Yes they are. They are working on the tracks right outside my house 24 hours a day over the long weekend. Lucky me!

Anyway all the trains are being replaced by buses for the duration so you should still be able to get into town according to the Maxx website www.maxx.co.nz

Actually the website is useless because if you just type in where you want to go in the usual way it gives you the normal train timetable. It's not until you go to the updates section that it tells you there will be no trains and you have to catch a bus instead. And for my local station (Avondale) the map of where to catch the bus seems to be
    a) still showing info from Easter and
    b) showing the bus stops for going to Britomart and going to New Lynn on the wrong sides of Blockhouse Bay Road.

Needless to say, I'll be taking the BIKE!

There is plenty of bike parking around the event. Fairly big crowd there too.

Was a really good show/event, other organisers should take notes, the crowds were great.

The only thing that could have been done extra would have been a big screen as it was hard to see the whole course if you wearnt in the stands.

otherwise, VERY well done RedBull/Chris Birch/WMCC

    A few more photos HERE

Took most of these during the warmup laps when the crowds were lighter, and the sun was still out.

Wow. That was pretty damn excellent. Thanks for all the effort Birchy & crew, tough luck at the end dude - looks like you had a little hoodoo following you round. Scott - nice man love moment at the beginning (hope to see that on CGW) and some other crowd pleasing acrobat demos. Impressive effort.
