I have had teens spit at me when i ride past a street full of drunk party P heads, just ignore it and keep on riding mate, let the police deal with it next time.If you try to fight them they come in numbers and are intoxicated/high on some potent drug and they carry knifes not a good combination.

I agree 100% with your sentiments,
but should caution that you are dealing with people that aren't thinking sanely (see:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methamphetamine) and generally carry knives or other offensive weapons, sometimes even firearms (dependin on ya hood!).
There is more than enough anecdotal evidence to support that view, and recent events highlight the likelyhood of seemingly simple arguments such as this escalating into something more serious.
