Harley Davidson: The most efficient way to convert gasoline into noise without the side effects of horsepower.
'Fast' Harleys are only fast compared to stock Harleys.
Well actually, yeah I do. Different things mean different things to different people. Just cos you cant differentiate an American icon from a can of beans doesnt mean that I shouldnt be entitled to have my opinion on it.
Sure the company makes money from its brand... most good companies do. Sure it can be considered overpriced by many, but to those who are happy to pay the price, its probably worth every cent.
As for the hypothetical parallell you draw about the bean club members in their bean club clothing eating their overpriced 'brand' of beans... you dam well betcha if there was such a thing that those beans WOULD mean something to those people. Just cos you dont agree doesnt make you and your high and mighty tirade any more correct.
Yeah yeah... your entitled to your opinion and blah blah... but if you must post your opinions at least do it in such a way that you dont disrespect others because of their preferences.

Cheers, Yeah I have heard that the 883s are a little lacking but this is so much more appealing than the nightster. Will have to take one for a ride to see what its like... I have no idea about installing bits to bikes so I prob would look to the dealer if this was worthwhile.

Like I would tell you what it means to me and open the door for more of your anti everything bullshit... no thanks, you can continue your argument by yourself.
Oh wait... does this somehow prove to you that I dont actually know what it means to me...?

I like the marketing and the motorclothes.
Don't like the stuff with big logos on it but there is plenty subtly branded stuff that are just well designed products for motorcycles.
What it stands for is a well made and supported product generally ridden by people who are reasonably successful in life and can afford nice toys.
And a few blow hards. :-P
Interesting, Your almost saying its a status symbol?,display of wealth?
Personally I like the look and the way it can be traced back through 100 years of motorcycles, Heritage does have a value, But god damn they have saturated it will gunk, Miles and miles of gunk, Now every bike has to have an angle and comes with a pre-packaged "lifestyle" The marketing it seems is more important then the bike.
There is no more "freedom" or "free spirit" packaged with any HD then there is with a GN250.
Of course, that's just my opinion, Not designed to upset any sensative soul's but of no concern if it does.
All bikes have different capabilities and style, we all aspire to what appeals to us.
Freedom and lifestyle isn't packaged with any brand of bike, Enjoyment and the thrill of riding is inherent in motorcycles whether they are from Korea or America, Over powered or under powered, Race track, dirt track or to work and back.
Stupid question.
Just about the most fun a man can have is fanging a 250 dirt bike on a gravel road.
