Actually, I saw (and stole) a bunch of old American MX mag's from the school art room that were destined to be used as mixing pads a while ago. Pretty cool to read all the stuff from back when Mc Grath was cleaning up and RC was the "new kid on the block" and I'll bet there are a few old road racing mags like that worth a read... If you have any of those, don't throw them out, I'll take them off your hands...

it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

We have boxes of bike mags in the garage. My partner got his bike licence in 1970 and his little brother got his a couple of years later so you can just imagine the collection.

I'm pleased to say they're both still riding but these days they do most of their bike oggling online rather than accumulating magazines.

At least I think it's bikes they're oggling!

I'm *still* waiting for them to finish the Killer Sportster...

Yeah I remember those "did you ever" Did you ever pinch the web of your thumb and forefinger changing a tire and it hurt so bad you threw the tire lever right through the (closed) garage door...Did you ever break a tap off in an exhaust flange hole and just run the nut onto what was left of the tap...
Edit - Did You Ever was written by Ed Hertfelder. I've had a look and can't find those columns but i did find these:
    http://www.nhmotox.com/pdf/comedy/comedy.htm

Editor Cook Neilson and Phil Schilling built a Ducati 750ss -"Old Blue" for Daytona. there was an excellent story ("Racer Road") about building it. The pic is an exact replica called Deja Blue built for the Barber museum.

I have the very last issue of Cycle. It's a keeper

I've collected PB since the beginning of the 1990's...
It’s diametrically opposed to the sanitised existence of the Lemmings around me in the Dilbert Cartoon hell I live in; it’s life at full volume, perfect colour with high resolution and 10,000 watts of amplification.

Yep, have a fair few piled up from about 1990. It is surprising how often one can recall reading something and have to go back for another look...usuallly ends up in hours looking at old PBs and having a laugh. BRMs are accumulating pretty rapidly, too.

No you're not on your own. The bike magazine thing got out of hand for me over the years and now have enough to start a book store.
Dont get rid of them you'll regret it. Have a few mates that got rid of their collections and still hear about it.......errr mind you some of them went into my collection but i let them read them occasionally

I've still got copies of Back Street Heroes so you are far from alone in this obsession!
