Cannot download anything from Garmin or mapsource.

The computer goes through the downloading process and then tells me it has deleted it because it has a virus. Tried turning firewall off, no good. Tried swearing a lot, no good.

Why can't things be straight forward like a toaster? just an appliance after all.

Mapsource is no longer supported. It has been superceded by Basecamp. Try downloading that, then try again. http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=4435

Mcafee on this laptop and nothing on the other one, maybe windows something???. Same happens on both laptops, gets to the end of the download, then runs a security scan and deletes the download.

Fixed it, had to restore my laptop comletely. Amazing how much better brains work with several Steinlagers.
