To be honest, I'm not sure what all the fuss is about.

I can destroy a pair of kneesliders in a track day - but I'm still slow. My mate ZXRider seldom gets his knee down for long, but he's still fuckloads faster than me...

Maybe there is more to this riding lark that pulling wheelstands and kneesliding? (I'm taking the piss in case some of the dullards in the room are wondering...).

You're right there, I never got mine down for ages, but there weren't many that could stay with me on the road (not a racetrack...blah blah). It i believe, was a pivotal point in my track riding though.

Good write up. Clipped my boot through some twisties, gave me a hell of a fright! Thats the closest I have gotten to dragging knees. I leave that kind of fun to the Rossi wanna be's, right before they bin themselves.

The question I ask is WHY dya wanna get ya knee down ??
Me I can't be fucked trying on the road.
The few times its happened recently its been a need rather than a want situation.
To see a life newly created. To watch it grow and prosper. Isn't that the greatest gift a human being can be given?

I don't kneeslide on the road - you ride at 6/10's on the road at most - not 9/10's or 10/10's...

i dont see why theres so much written about how to do it?

you just chuck it into a corner, and slam your knee on the deck?

Only do it on the road on a few corners, purely out of boredom on the atnr.

I've never really wanted to on the road, never had a chance to ride a trackday yet.

Dragged a boot a few times accidentally, which made my arsehole pucker quick fast.

When I first started racing I was trying so hard to deflower my sliders as I felt shamed walking round the pitts withs shiny sliders. In the end I gave up trying and concentrated on going fast. In the end race 1 at the final round of the winter series at Taupo the sweeper on to the back straight it just happend. Now its happening on every turn (on the race track) even in some cases im pulling my knee up as to get more lean angle. especially the sweeper at manfield. Thanks for the cool shot Chrissie.

If you are doing it on the track you are quite normal.

If you are doing it on the queen's highways it's only a matter of time before you enter a world of pain.
