How long do these points linger?
If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.
Every set of points earned has a lifetime of two years. Getting another collection one year after the first set means that the first set will drop off in a year and the other set in two years (some people argue how this works... but this IS how it works).
I finished collecting all my points earlier this year, and redeemed them for a walk, so I don't have any, any more. Along the way, I did find it a rather expensive hobby, so I am currently trying to kick it, given the economic climate.

Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that, who cares? ...He's a mile away and you've got his shoes

Yeah im on 70 for the next year.
Both were clearly my fault
64 in a 50 in my uncles 7 series
And just a week or so ago 69 in a 50
35 demerits each makes 70
However the last one got bigger when i failed to produce my licence (extra $55)

I'd had no tickets for 30 years. The day after I told another biker this (and we both went "UH-oh..." after the words slipped out), I got a ticket for 132km/h, and 40 points. I've since got another 2 for 72km/h and 35 points. Dunno when they expire - it's either this year or next.
And last week I got my first ever speed camera ticket - $120 for 120km/h.
What fucks me off is that only one of these tickets was perhaps 'naughty' riding - I was late for work, and traffic was moderately heavy, and I was goin a bit fast (72). The 132 was in an overtaking lane, after following a plonker in an SUV for maybe 10km at 85km/h, and I slowed down immediately after, even thogh I didn't know I'd been pinged. Same with the 120km speed camera ticket: long straight, string of cars with a campervan doing maybe 80km/h. I knew that there was nowhere to pass for maybe the next 15km, and that if the camper van hadn't pulled over on this straight (it had a wide strip on the side to do so), it wasn't going to. (Whatever happened to driving courteously?)
I was second from the end, when the Falcadore behind me pulls out to pass. I follow him, and all of a sudden he slows right down, and pops into a gap. WTF? I'm stuck out on the right, but the road is clear, so I boot it, not seeing the van at the side of the road (which is what Falcadore Man had slowed down for.
While these tickets certainly have made me think about my riding and driving, in fact, it's not any more than being pulled over and told off, or even being flashed by a cop (like the one who instead did a u-turn and ticketed me) would've done. It's obviously more about revenue gathering than safety - how does a speed camera ticket make you slow down? It's 3 weeks before you get it, and more'n likely you got it because you didn't see the camera, so you've probably no idea where you were at the time or why it happened.

... and that's what I think.
Or summat.
Or maybe not...
Dunno really....![]()

It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)
