BINGO! Not that I am going to divluge how many demerits I have (cant remember right now) but demerit points is part of the reason I got it. That and I was going to kill someone on the train, which is where I'll be again if I get too many...

Collected 20 about 2.5 years ago ... my first in 25 years at the time and no more since then. To be honest though I've been lucky, not good (but also not stupid).

Thirty five at the moment for 123k in a 100. Got them on a soaking wet ride from Hokitika to Wellington. I'm now in the debate of "New slip-on or a radar detector". If i get the 1st it'll make the second more necessary methinks!

I was pulled over and fined while in my cage, the original amount of demirt points was going to tip me over due to 3 other infractions of speeding. I asked very nicely and the officer told me he would check my background and if i had no crimanal convictions he would adjust it to allow me to keep my liciense.

A week later a fine turned up inthe mail minus about 12 k's of what he showed me on the radar, it put me on 95 points.

Kept my license and my job.

Thanks to the link in post 19, I'm quite happy about having 80. In fact I might see if I can afford the fines for a few more points.

I'm looking at a 6 month court disqualification soon, so all previous demerits get cleared. Is that a feckin bonus, or what?.

    BTW, I am NOT GUILTY!!!

It seems to me that most of the Demit points that have been incurred on this poll are at a speed of less than 120 Kph.
We could solve this problem, help NZ get out of the Recession (slow down) Speed things up a tad (John key's looking for new ideas)
By increasing the speed limit to 120 Kph like South Africa, Europe Etc get the out solving real crime some could even have the weekend off.
Or are we just all retards that we are only permitted to travel at 100?

It only takes one retard for the limit to be 100. You silly man.
