    @ the OP (325rocket)

I get the impression you dont ride so well from your description of what happened. It seems to me that you had no "feel " for your machine and got caught out by basic gear selection then resorted to freewheeling thru a corner. (Maybe on the brakes as well due to panic!)

Despite the high performance spec of your bike I doubt that it has engine braking like you would find in a V-Twin for example. Your gearing mods would not have made that much difference to engine braking so I would think you just came in far too hot and dropped to an unneccessarily low gear through lack of feel.

If you locked in 2nd then surely 2nd was too low, did you consider changing back into 3rd? i.e. instead of free wheeling around the corner with the clutch in you could have tried coming into the corner in 3rd with the throttle off and then opened the throttle as you exited.

Or is there some reason you can't throttle off for a corner without changing down a gear? Or did you assume you needed 2nd for the corner since that was the right gear before you changed your sprockets? Maybe what was once a 2nd gear corner is now a 3rd gear corner with your new gearing.
thats it at the end. it was now a 3rd gear corner.

no, no brakes. to be honest it was such a stupid mistake i was laughing my head off at the time. the road is a known shit, no grip kind of road covered in overbanding. tyres were stone cold. stupid stupid mistake. i had a heap of feel for what was going on and i knew it wasnt going to be a major due to an ok run off area.

no but it does have a surprising amount for an il4.

Yes I've recently bought a K3 Gixer which I'm pretty sure is 1 diff on front as the speedos about 20km/h out, bit of a pain around town and guessing on the motorways a bit interesting, can't imajine the cops will be sympathetic. Is there an easy fix for this?

Hey man good to hear you handled the sprocket change! Kinda interested in changing my sprockets also My only justification is a bit more get up and go and shiney new sprocket bling.... I didnt know the speedo was going to be affected so dramatically. Have you found a supplier in nz yet for the healer?
    holding the line...
